Preparation Day

In 26 hours, we should be on an airplane. The first leg of our rather long trip, is scheduled leave from John Wayne Airport in Orange County California at 7:32 pm on Monday, July 23. A short flight takes us to San Francisco, where we layover for a few hours until our 11:30 pm departure to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. The looong leg (14 hrs and 45 min) to Johannesburg is scheduled to depart at 11:15 am on July 24 and arrive at 8:00 am on July 25. You math wizards can calculate that the time difference between New York and Johannesburg is six hours. One more two hour flight takes us to Blantyre, Malawi and then a 90 minute drive to Hope Village, or home for the next 14 days.

Today is all about packing and preparation. We have sorted about 120 lbs of cloths to deliver to children of Kogoya Village and packed our own clothes, toothbrushes, etc. This morning, our super supportive church family prayed over us and many individuals signed up to be daily intercessors and also submitted their email addresses so they can get email updates.

We plan to update this blog each day with reports, photos, and hopefully videos. Between the emails, this blog and www.Facebook.com/Annie.Closet, we hope that everyone who wants to stay informed will have access to enough information.

Now, we are taking a break to have dinner with our neighbors, the Best Family - and yes, they are the Best Family in more ways than one.

More to come...

JBB :)
